contact person by clicking the committee name. Edits and publishes the Local’s updates, and newsletter publications, newsline and website, and is responsible for all external and public relations. Arranges
and runs various programs in the community to help promote the
CWA. Organizes and arranges strike benefits, assists in acquiring of hospital equipment. Education Committee Employee
Assistance Program Checks
and verifies financial transactions for the Local. This includes
all vouchers, office expenditures and financial reports requested
by International, Labor and any union members. Screens candidates running for local public office, coordinates phone banks and distribution of literature. Attends legislative conferences and informs the local of all prudent issues. Mobilization
Committee -
Upated Information Mobilization is a stratgey of building power through education and membership involvement. The Mobilization Committee structure helps in educating and organizing members to achieve union goals in bargaining, community and political action, and work place issues. The Organizing Committee is the arm of the Local which assures the future of the union by bringing the unorganized laborer the benefits of unionism in the shape of a collective bargaining agreement. Helps work groups set up safety committees, works with all bargaining units on safety problems and contract language. Call the Union office at 216-635-4340 to report any unsafe work conditions. Regains work lost to non-union contractors outside the bargaining units, address management doing bargaining unit work and thus helping protect our jobs for the future. Represents members injured on the job, files necessary forms and provides representation at hearings with the Ohio Workers’ Compensation board. Immediately report all work injuries to your manager/supervisor and then call CWA Local 4340 at 216-635-4340 for futher instruction.
