AT&T - Legacy T Contract Ratified

AT&T - Legacy T Contracts Ratified

The tentative agreement between CWA and AT&T Corp. (Legacy T) has been ratified by a 77% “yes” vote. A separate Contract for AT&T Puerto Rico was also ratified by the members there. This was an extremely difficult round of bargaining with demands from AT&T that would have frozen the pensions of future retirees, eliminate pensions for new hires and greatly increased the amount our members pay for medical care.

Lisa Bolton, Vice President for ...the CWA T&T office said, “The Bargaining Team made it clear to AT&T that it was “our turn” for fairness. We are thankful for the hard work of the elected Bargainers, then-Vice President Bill Bates, the Staff and all Locals who stepped up to support the team and build our mobilization activities.”

As soon as we receive information from the Company about when you will see your wage increase and retroactive pay, we will notify the Locals and post the information on this site. The benefit changes do not take effect until January 1, 2016.

Mobilization should not end with Contract ratification. We need to protect the Contract from both violations by the Company and from Politicians, seeking to weaken our collective bargaining rights. We need to stay educated, active and united.

AT&T Legacy T Bargaining Report #41 - Tentative Agreement Reached

After over two months of bargaining we have reached a Tentative Agreement (TA) at the Legacy T table. The team feels we were able to beat back the majority of the Company’s retrogressive demands. While there are increases in the cost of Health Care, they are much less than the Company originally demanded and we have added an option with lower premiums. We negotiated wage increases that will more than cover thos...e costs and give our members significantly more money in their pockets during the life of this agreement. Rather than the pension freeze the Company wanted, we got a pension increase and maintained and improved our job security language.

A more detailed report will be posted within 24 hours and even more detail will be presented to the Local Presidents at the Contract explanation meeting and to you before your ratification vote.

Legacy T and District 4 are both announcing our TA’s today.

We want to thank all the Locals and Members who mobilized to make this agreement possible. It would not have happened without your participation.

AT&T Legacy T Bargaining Report #40

Another midnight recess for the Bargaining Team last night as we continue to try to hammer out an agreement with AT&T.

We will be meeting again this morning.

Also, we were informed last night that there was a grievance strike and all three Legacy T employees in Local 4322 walked out for a day and a half. These strikes are about Local issues and are ONLY taking place because Local issues are not being resolved.

Please keep up the Contract Mobilization.

AT&T Legacy T Bargaining Report #39

The Bargaining Team worked Friday and Saturday until almost midnight and still was not able to come to an agreement. We made a commitment that our members will be better off after these negotiations and we intend to keep that commitment.

We will be meeting again this morning.

We’ve heard there were some grievance strikes of AT&T-Midwest locals and our members in T&T Local 4998 refused to cross their line and supported them. Thanks to Local President Pam Rogers for your leadership in this.

Please keep up the pressure.

Your Bargaining Team,
