                      Nomination and Election of Officers for CWA Local 4340.
      Please note the important dates below for the Nomination and Election Process.

September 5,2023:
Nominating Petitions and explanation available for pick-up at 10:00 am at 1400 E. Schaaf Rd, Brooklyn Heights OH, 44131

September 22,2023:
Valid Nomination Petitions must be received by certified mail to the CWA Local 4340 Election Committee  P.O Box.                                                                                                                                                   

September 25,2023:                                                                                                                              Verification  Verification of petitions and Notification to Candidates

October 2, 2023:
Ballots will be mailed to the membership.  If you do not receive your ballot within 10 business days please contact the Union Hall @ 216-635-4340

November 3, 2023:
Ballots must be returned to CWA Local 4340 Election Committee P.O. Box

November 6, 2023:
Ballots will be tabulated at the Union Hall and results certified

Robert D. Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund

Robert D. Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund | Cleveland Foundation

Purpose: To provide scholarship support for members, or their children, of Communications Workers of America (CWA) – District 4 with a minimum of 18 months tenure, having a minimum 2.0 GPA, and the potential to succeed in college based on completed application. Application method: Submit a Corporate/Group Application and Basic Requirements through our Scholarship Gateway

Beirne Foundation Scholarship Application for 2023-2024 Now Available

The CWA Joe Beirne Foundation will award 16 partial college scholarships of $4,000 each for two years for the 2022-2023 academic year. CWA members, their spouses, children, and grandchildren are eligible for the scholarships, including the dependents of retired, laid-off, or deceased members.

Applications are available only online at the Foundation's website. The final deadline for the 2023-2024 school year is 11:59 p.m., EDT, April 30, 2023.

The Beirne scholarship program is made possible by funding from CWA locals. Read more about the program here.

**2023 Union Plus Scholarships Available for CWA Families**

Union Plus Scholarships for Union Members and Their Children

Current and retired members of participating unions, their spouses and their dependent children (as defined by IRS regulations). Note, grandchildren are not eligible unless the grandchild is a legal dependent (as defined by IRS regulations) of the union member.

Although open enrollment is closed, everyone should check to see if they are required to verify any of their dependents. 

Access HROnestop to get to the Benefits Center tab. In there you will find a red circle on the top right corner with a number. Click on that to get to the Message Center. Check to see if there is a message stating “Documentation Required to Verify Dependent Eligibility”. You will find information about the documents required, and instructions on how to submit them.
